Learner’s alleged murder case postponed

The Malamulele magistrates court has postponed the case of an 18-year-old learner who allegedly murdered his classmate to 07 August 2018.

The suspect has been remanded in custody.
The 18-year-old allegedly stabbed and killed his fellow classmate, Hloniphani Robert Golele at Nkatini High School in Shigalo village, near Malamulele on Wednesday.
The Department of Education says collaborative efforts by parents and teachers will help prevent unfortunate incidents where learners stab each other in schools.
Department spokesperson Sam Makondo says disciplinary processes will be taken against the perpetrator and he will face suspension from the school with immediate effect.
Makondo says the department has offered counselling to other learners and visited the family to offer its condolences.
He says it is unfortunate that a young life was lost in this manner, however parents should start playing a role
