Bela Bela Resident receive title deeds

Nine communities in the Waterberg District have received title deeds from the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform on Tuesday.
They are represented by the Communal Property Association who want to profit from the land they claimed through the Commission on the Restitution of Land Rights.
Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane handed over the signed title deeds in Bela Bela on Tuesday saying associations should prioritise agricultural development.
Nkoana-Mashabane says this will also reduce the inequality that exists as far as the distribution of land is concerned.
The title deeds were received by representatives of the Seabi, Matlhabatse, Mabula Mosima, Baphalane ba Ramokoka, Shamane Magashule, Letlhakaneng, Ga Padi, Sebilong and Batlhaleroa communities.
The title deeds holders have expressed concern over the lack of support after successful land claims.
Communal Property Association representatives from nine communities in the district have spoken out on the lack of funding, resources and skills development that has left land lying fallow in their villages.
Those who received the title deeds on behalf of their respective communities have called on the department to assist them in developing the land.
